Professional identity formation: preferences and assessments of the medical university students

Introduction. Today’s world is facing more and challenges, these are accidents emergencies, the growth of infectious diseases, natural disasters military conflicts. These conditions stipulate medical education system to provide high-quality professional training specialists in demand. The topicality study associated with searching for effective ways students’ identity development. purpose identify high school preferences process their at university. Materials methods. theoretical methodological foundations based on student-centred approaches. empirical base includes results a group survey students I.P. Pavlov Ryazan State Medical University (Russian Federation). It involved 146 respondents, among them 57 were first-year 89 thirdyear students. methods mathematical statistics: non-parametric criteria φ*-Fisher's angular transformation; Pearson's chi-squared test. confirm stability interests motivation junior was found that 3rd year determined specialization, much often than 1st (φ*emp = 1.851; p<0.05). data obtained show tendency research volunteer activities. Starting from first studies, eager choose disciplines specialty. interest mastering English-language scientific discourse observed; this indicator markedly higher postgraduates. novelty lies identification analysis pedagogical facts characterizing stable attitude self-development. practical significance entails possibility using timely years.
